A beggar calls himself an anatha (one without a master or anyone to support him), while asking for alms. This is not correct. For everyone, God is the Natha (support or master). It is only God who is Anatha, because there is no one above Him. Tyagaraja considered Rama as his saviour and protector and did not care for the wealth of the world. He considered service at Rama’s feet as the greatest treasure. Kabir was a poor weaver and he used to share his food with others. When the King sent gold and provisions to him through his officials, Kabir exclaimed: “For whom has the king sent all these?” They said: “The King sent these things to you as you are anatha (helpless).” He replied: “I am not without support. Rama is my Natha (master). You cannot say I have none to support me. It is only Rama who has none to support Him. Give these to Him.” Kabir said, Anatha means God. Ein Bettler nennt sich selbst einen Anatha (einen, der keinen Herrn oder jemanden hat, der ihn unterstützt), während er um Almosen bittet. Das ist nicht richtig. Für jeden ist Gott der Natha (Unterstützung oder Meister). Nur Gott ist ein Anatha, denn es gibt niemanden über ihm. Tyagaraja betrachtete Rama als seinen Retter und Beschützer und kümmerte sich nicht um den Reichtum der Welt. Er betrachtete den Dienst zu Ramas Füßen als den größten Schatz. Kabir war ein armer Weber und pflegte sein Essen mit anderen zu teilen. Als der König ihm durch seine Beamten Gold und Vorräte schickte, rief Kabir aus: “Für wen hat der König dies alles geschickt?” Sie antworteten: “Der König hat dir diese Dinge geschickt, weil du anatha (hilflos) bist.” Er erwiderte: “Ich bin nicht ohne Unterstützung. Rama ist mein Natha (Herr). Ihr könnt nicht sagen, dass ich niemanden habe, der mich unterstützt. Es ist nur Rama, der niemanden hat, der ihn unterstützt. Gebt Ihm diese.” Kabir sagte: “Anatha bedeutet Gott.“ Wir sollten die richtige Bedeutung der Worte verstehen.
