One has only to recognise ignorance, to make it vanish! One has only to know oneself to contact the springs of Bliss and Immortality and of kinship with all beings. In Sanskrit, the individual is known as “vyakti”, because he has to make his innate divinity explicit (vyakta). That is your reality; discover it, dwell in it, and desire to divulge it! Discard all low desires for a few acres of land, a fat account in the bank, a few more bungalows, or cars; desire rather the joy that will never fade, that will never cloy, that is deep, steady and strength-giving – the joy of Divine Realisation. Discover your holiness, your divinity, your truth. You may have doubts as to which is right conduct (dharma), which is truth, which is Divine love, etc. – I admit! But, you have no doubt about yourself, is it not? So, find out who you are and be fixed in that truth. That is enough to save you and give you everlasting joy! – Divine Discourse, Aug 13, 1964.

Man muss nur die Unwissenheit erkennen, um sie verschwinden zu lassen! Man muss nur sich selbst erkennen, um mit den Quellen der Glückseligkeit und Unsterblichkeit und der Verwandtschaft mit allen Wesen in Kontakt zu treten. Im Sanskrit wird das Individuum als “Vyakti” bezeichnet, weil es seine angeborene Göttlichkeit explizit machen muss (vyakta). Das ist eure Wirklichkeit; entdeckt sie, verweilt in ihr und wünscht, sie zu offenbaren! Werft alle niederen Wünsche nach ein paar Hektar Land, einem fetten Konto auf der Bank, ein paar Bungalows oder Autos ab; begehrt stattdessen die Freude, die niemals vergeht, die niemals versiegt, die tief, beständig und kraftspendend ist – die Freude der Göttlichen Verwirklichung. Entdeckt eure Heiligkeit, eure Göttlichkeit, eure Wahrheit. Ihr mögt Zweifel haben, was richtiges Verhalten (Dharma) ist, was Wahrheit ist, was göttliche Liebe ist, und so weiter. – Das gebe ich zu! Aber ihr habt keine Zweifel an euch selbst, nicht wahr? Findet also heraus, wer ihr seid, und bleibt in dieser Wahrheit verankert. Das ist genug, um euch zu retten und ewige Freude zu geben! – Sri Sathya Sai, 13. August 1964.
