Let us consider chamatkara, acts that attract and cause wonder. You see a flower. You long to hold it in your hand only when its colour or fragrance is attractive. You enter the market and see heaps of fruits. If the fruits are not attractive, you have no urge to eat them and benefit from them. Attraction is the very nature of the Divine. Once the person is drawn near, the process of samskara (transformation) starts. Without this, man remains fallow and feeble. He has no dignity or personality. A worthless steel lump is transformed by skilful manipulation and reconstruction into a watch that is worth several hundred rupees; this is the result of samskara, which turned it into a useful tool for indicating time. Thus man can also be transformed into a noble, efficient, happy and disciplined member of society by the implanting of good thoughts, good feelings, good deeds and good emotions. Such transformed persons will spontaneously engage themselves in the task of promoting human welfare. Betrachten wir Chamatkara, Handlungen, die anziehen und Wunder bewirken. Ihr seht eine Blume. Ihr sehnt euch danach, sie in der Hand zu halten, wenn ihre Farbe oder ihr Duft attraktiv ist. Ihr geht auf den Markt und seht haufenweise Früchte. Wenn die Früchte nicht attraktiv sind, verspürt man kein Verlangen, sie zu essen und von ihnen zu profitieren. Anziehung ist die eigentliche Natur des Göttlichen. Wenn der Mensch einmal angezogen ist, beginnt der Prozess der Samskara (Transformation). Ohne diesen Prozess bleibt der Mensch brachliegend und kraftlos. Er hat weder Würde noch Persönlichkeit. Ein wertloser Stahlklumpen wird durch geschickte Manipulation und Rekonstruktion in eine Uhr verwandelt, die mehrere hundert Rupien wert ist; das ist das Ergebnis von Samskara, das ihn in ein nützliches Werkzeug zur Anzeige der Zeit verwandelt. So kann auch der Mensch in ein edles, tüchtiges, glückliches und diszipliniertes Mitglied der Gesellschaft verwandelt werden, indem man ihm gute Gedanken, gute Gefühle, gute Taten und gute Emotionen einpflanzt. Solche transformierten Menschen werden sich spontan der Aufgabe widmen, das menschliche Wohlergehen zu fördern. Sie werden Förderer der Ideale der Brüderlichkeit der Menschen und der Vaterschaft Gottes sein. – Sri Sathya Sai, 23. November 1976.
