Embodiments of Love! All who come embodied are Avatars, advent of Divine manifestations of God. What then is the special feature of Rama, Krishna, Buddha, and Christ? Why do we worship, adore and celebrate only these with reverence? The individuals that are in awareness are Avatars, individuals that are unaware are humans. They are aware of Atma which is the Truth. Because you have forgotten your true Self you lead lives with the feeling that you are human. As Divinity is in the Atma, the individuals with awareness are adored with the appellation of Avatars. Just like when you dream, you forget your many experiences during wakefulness, so too, having been born in this world with a body, you have forgotten the awareness of your Atmic nature and you have achievements in this dream world alone as your goal. As Divinity is beyond wakefulness, dream and sleep; beyond time, space and causation; a person with awareness of the divine nature can no doubt be proclaimed as an Avatar. Of what use is it to honour the Avatar and hold the day when the Avatar took human form as sacred? Verkörperungen der Liebe! Alle, die verkörpert kommen, sind Avatare, aufkommende göttliche Manifestationen Gottes. Was ist dann das besondere Merkmal von Rama, Krishna, Buddha und Christus? Warum beten wir nur diese an, verehren und feiern sie mit Ehrfurcht? Die Individuen, die sich im Bewusstsein befinden, sind Avatare, Individuen, die sich nicht bewusst sind, sind Menschen. Sie sind sich des Atman bewusst, der die Wahrheit ist. Weil ihr euer wahres Selbst vergessen habt, lebt ihr mit dem Gefühl, dass ihr Menschen seid. Da Göttlichkeit im Atman ist, werden die Individuen mit Bewusstsein mit der Bezeichnung Avatare verehrt. Wie man im Traum die vielen Erfahrungen vergisst, die man im Wachzustand gemacht hat, so hat man auch, nachdem man in dieser Welt mit einem Körper geboren wurde, das Bewusstsein seiner atmischen Natur vergessen, und man hat allein in dieser Traumwelt Erfolge als Ziel. Da die Göttlichkeit jenseits von Wachsein, Traum und Schlaf liegt, jenseits von Zeit, Raum und Kausalität, kann ein Mensch, der sich seiner göttlichen Natur bewusst ist, ohne Zweifel als Avatar bezeichnet werden. Was nützt es, den Avatar zu ehren und den Tag, an dem der Avatar menschliche Gestalt annahm, als heilig zu betrachten? Die Botschaft des Avatars muss geboren werden, muss lebendig werden, muss in euch, in eurem Herzen wachsen; das ist der Geburtstag, den ihr feiern müsst. – Sri Sathya Sai, 23. November 1972.
