Every person has a mind of his own in which thoughts arise based on his Ichcha-Shakthi (willpower). One person favours adoration of Rama. Another prefers Shiva. A third one enjoys worshipping Krishna. A fourth is inspired by the contemplation of Jesus. Another is musing over the thought of Allah. All these are based on individual preferences. But, in the minds of all persons, in whatever country or region, whatever form one wishes to adore, whatever deity one wants to worship, whatever name one likes to chant, two things are essential. Vishvasam (faith) and Shraddha (earnestness). Without earnestness, even the most trivial act cannot be performed well. Without Shraddha nothing can be accomplished. Shraddhavan labhate Jnanam, says the Gita – Only the earnest seeker can acquire knowledge of the Divine. However intelligent one may be, without earnestness, he will achieve nothing. Jeder Mensch hat einen eigenen Verstand, in dem Gedanken entstehen, die auf seiner Ichcha-Shakthi (Willenskraft) basieren. Der eine bevorzugt die Verehrung von Rama. Ein anderer bevorzugt Shiva. Ein dritter verehrt gerne Krishna. Ein vierter ist von der Kontemplation Jesu inspiriert. Ein anderer sinniert über den Gedanken an Allah. All dies beruht auf individuellen Vorlieben. Aber im Geist aller Menschen, egal in welchem Land oder in welcher Region, egal welche Gestalt man verehren möchte, egal welche Gottheit man anbeten möchte, egal welchen Namen man singen möchte, zwei Dinge sind wesentlich: Vishvasam (Glaube) und Shraddha (Ernsthaftigkeit). Ohne Ernsthaftigkeit kann selbst die trivialste Handlung nicht gut ausgeführt werden. Ohne Shraddha kann nichts vollbracht werden. Shraddhavan labhate Jnanam, sagt die Gita – nur der ernsthaft Suchende kann Wissen über das Göttliche erlangen. Wie intelligent jemand auch ist, ohne Ernsthaftigkeit wird er nichts erreichen. Ein Mensch mit Ernsthaftigkeit kann eine kleine brennende Schlacke in ein großes Feuer verwandeln. – Sri Sathya Sai, 19. Februar 1993.
