There are in the world bhojanalayas (hotels), vaidyalayas (hospitals), Vilasalayas (homes of entertainment, theatres), viharalayas (places of sport), Vichit-ralayas (museums, palaces of art, etc.), and so on. But, however they are named, they are all duhkhalayas (homes of sorrow). The only Aanandanilaya (home of joy) is the Devalaya (temple of God), that is to say, one’s own body where God is the inner Guide and Guardian. Do not hate anyone, follow The Gita’s prescription for spiritual health – AdhweshtaSarvabhutanam, ‘without being inimical to any being’. The reason for this injunction is that God is the inner Atma in everything that exists. Love is transformed into poison if hate contaminates it. Love some, but do not hate the rest, for that hate will foul the love and make it mortal. Love comes automatically to the realised soul; but, the spiritual aspirant has to cultivate it by means of service and inquiry into the unity of the Atman. – Divine Discourse, Jul 29, 1969.

In der Welt gibt es Hotels (bhojanalaya), Krankenhäuser (vaidyalaya), Theater (vilasalaya), Sportstätten (viharalaya), Museen (vichit-ralaya) und so weiter. Aber wie auch immer sie genannt werden, sie alle sind Häuser des Leids (duhkhalaya). Das einzige Haus des Glücks (anandanilaya) ist der Tempel Gottes (devalaya), das heißt der eigene Körper, in dem Gott der innere Führer und Wächter ist. Hasst niemanden, befolgt die Verordnung der Gita für spirituelle Gesundheit – „das Nichtvorhandensein feindseliger Gefühle gegenüber allen Wesen (adveshta sarvabhutanam). Der Grund für diese Anweisung ist, dass Gott das innere Selbst (atman) in allem ist, was existiert. Liebe verwandelt sich in Gift, wenn Hass sie verunreinigt. Liebt einige, aber hasst nicht den Rest, denn dieser Hass wird die Liebe verderben und sterblich machen. Die Liebe kommt von allein zur verwirklichten Seele, aber der spirituelle Aspirant muss sie kultivieren, indem er dient und die Einheit des Atman erforscht.
