You must have the goal of merging in the Absolute (sayujya) always in view; do not give it up or forget it. Be like the river that flows slowly to the sea. A man who has purchased a ticket to Calcutta from Madras, because that is the place he wants to reach, will not halt at any other place on the journey; he has the destination always in view. Of course, he may be interested in the sights and scenes on the way; he might get down here and there for refreshments, but he will not seek a home anywhere, in between. Being in the same place, being near to the Master, and likeness of the form of the Master (salokya, sameepya, sarupya) may come in between; in fact, they do. But do not be satisfied with those stages. They are intermediate stations, remember. You have to reach each station and travel beyond to your final destination. -Divine Discourse, Sep 02, 1963.

Ihr müsst das Ziel der Verschmelzung mit dem Absoluten (sayujya) immer vor Augen haben; gebt es nicht auf und vergesst es nicht. Seis wie der Fluss, der langsam zum Meer fließt. Ein Mann, der eine Fahrkarte von Madras nach Kalkutta gekauft hat, weil das der Ort ist, den er erreichen will, wird auf der Reise an keinem anderen Ort Halt machen; er hat das Ziel immer vor Augen. Natürlich mag er sich für die Sehenswürdigkeiten und Szenen auf dem Weg interessieren; er mag hier und da eine Pause einlegen, um sich zu erfrischen, aber er wird nirgendwo dazwischen ein Zuhause suchen. Am selben Ort zu sein, in der Nähe des Meisters zu sein und die Ähnlichkeit mit der Gestalt des Meisters (salokya, sameepya, sarupya) können dazwischen liegen; das ist tatsächlich der Fall. Aber gebt euch nicht mit diesen Stufen zufrieden. Sie sind Zwischenstationen, denkt daran. Ihr müsst jede Station erreichen und darüber hinaus zu eurem endgültigen Ziel reisen.
