‘So-ham’ (I am He) proclaims the identity of the individual and the Divine. This identity will not be understood as long as one is caught up in the tentacles of the material world. This is the truth about God. If one asks, “Where is that God?” the answer is given in the 18th chapter of the Bhagavad Gita, in stanza 61. Krishna has declared there: “Ishvarah Sarvabhutanam hriddeshe” (The Lord resides in the heart region of all beings). We study the Gita. We adore it. There is daily recitation, but no practical application in daily life. The one who realises his identity with the Divine will not cause hurt to anyone. Service to the public is true worship of God. The power of the divine permeates everything. Our journey is from the individual to the Universal, from ‘Swam’ (mine) to ‘So-ham’ (oneness with God), from ‘I’ to ‘we’. – Divine Discourse, Feb 11, 1983.

„So’ham“ (Ich bin Er) verkündet die Identität des Individuums und des Göttlichen. Diese Identität kann nicht verstanden werden, solange man in den Tentakeln der materiellen Welt gefangen ist. Dies ist die Wahrheit über Gott. Wenn man fragt: „Wo ist dieser Gott?“, so findet man die Antwort im 18. Kapitel der Bhagavad Gita, in Strophe 61. Krishna hat dort erklärt: „Der Herr wohnt im Herzen aller Wesen (Ishvarah Sarvabhutanam hriddeshe).“ Wir studieren die Gita. Wir verehren sie. Sie wird täglich rezitiert, aber es gibt keine praktische Anwendung im täglichen Leben. Wer seine Identität mit dem Göttlichen erkennt, wird niemandem Schaden zufügen. Der Dienst an der Öffentlichkeit ist wahre Gottesverehrung. Die Kraft des Göttlichen durchdringt alles. Unsere Reise geht vom Individuellen zum Universellen, von ‚Swam‘ (mein) zu ‚So’ham‘ (Einheit mit Gott), von ‚ich‘ zu ‚wir‘.
