Rama is the bee that sucks the honey of devotion from the lotus of the heart. The bee loosens the petals of the flower it sits upon; but Rama adds to its beauty and fragrance! He is like the Sun, which draws water to itself by its rays, and accumulating it as clouds, sends it back as rain to quench the thirst of the earth! Rama, the mystic potent sound, is born in the navel and it rises up to the tongue and dances gladly thereon! The Vedic declaration, Tat-twam-asi (That-thou-art) is enshrined in “Rama”, which consists of three sounds: ‘Ra,’ ‘aa,’ and ‘ma’. Of these, ‘Ra’ is the symbol of Tat (That; Brahman, God), ‘Ma’ is the symbol of Twam (Thou; jivi, individual) and ‘aa’ that connects the two is the symbol of the identity of the two! The word Rama has also numerological significance: ‘Ra’ counts as two, ‘aa’ counts as zero, and ‘ma’ counts as five – so, Rama adds up to seven, an auspicious number. We have seven notes of music, seven heavenly sages, and reciting Rama for seven days continuously is considered especially fruitful!

Rama ist die Biene, die den Honig der Hingabe aus dem Lotos des Herzens saugt. Die Biene lockert die Blütenblätter der Blume, auf der sie sitzt, aber Rama trägt zu ihrer Schönheit und ihrem Duft bei! Er ist wie die Sonne, die durch ihre Strahlen Wasser an sich zieht und es als Wolken ansammelt, um es als Regen zurückzusenden, um den Durst der Erde zu löschen! Rama, der mystische, kraftvolle Klang, wird im Nabel geboren, steigt zur Zunge auf und tanzt freudig auf ihr! Die vedische Erklärung Tat-tvam-asi (Das bist du) ist in ‚Rama‘ verankert, dessen Name aus drei Klängen besteht: ‚Ra‘, ‚aa‘ und ‚ma‘. Davon ist ‚Ra‘ das Symbol für Tat (Das; Brahman, Gott), ‚Ma‘ ist das Symbol für Tvam (Du; jivi, Individuum) und ‚aa‘, das die beiden verbindet, ist das Symbol für die Identität der beiden! Das Wort Rama hat auch eine numerologische Bedeutung: ‚Ra‘ steht für zwei, ‚aa‘ für null und ‚ma‘ für fünf – Rama ergibt also sieben, eine verheißungsvolle Zahl.
