That legend of Samudramanthana (churning of the ocean) has great value for you, as you too have to churn the ocean of your heart and win the nectar for yourself. The legend is only a reminder. The heart full of satwa guna (purity) is the ocean of milk. The steady contemplation of the Divine (manana), either as your own reality or as the ideal to be reached, is the Mandara mountain planted in it as the churning rod. Vasuki, the serpent that was wound around the churning rod, represents the senses, emitting poisonous fumes during the process of churning. The rope is held by the good and the bad impulses and both struggle with the churning process; eager for the results which each has set its heart on. The grace of God is the Tortoise Incarnation, for the Lord Himself comes to the rescue, once He knows that you are earnestly seeking the secret of Immortality. He comes silently and unobserved as the tortoise did, holding the process of manana unimpaired and serving as the steady base of all spiritual practice. Many things emerge from the mind, when churned, but the wise wait patiently for the appearance of the guarantor of Immortality, and seize upon it with avidity. Die Legende von Samudramanthana (Umwälzung des Ozeans) hat großen Wert für euch, denn auch ihr müsst den Ozean eures Herzens umwälzen und den Nektar für euch gewinnen. Die Legende ist nur eine Erinnerung. Das Herz voller Sattvaguna (Reinheit) ist der Ozean der Milch. Die ständige Kontemplation des Göttlichen (manana), entweder als eure eigene Realität oder als das zu erreichende Ideal, ist der Mandara-Berg, der als Stößer in den Ozean gesetzt wird. Vasuki, die Schlange, die sich um den Stab gewickelt hat, steht für die Sinne, die während des Prozesses des Butterns giftige Dämpfe ausstoßen. Das Seil wird von den guten und den bösen Impulsen gehalten, und beide kämpfen mit dem Prozess des Umwälzens, begierig auf die Ergebnisse, auf die jeder von ihnen sein Herz gesetzt hat. Die Gnade Gottes ist die Inkarnation der Schildkröte, denn der Herr selbst kommt zur Rettung, sobald er weiß, dass ihr ernsthaft nach dem Geheimnis der Unsterblichkeit sucht. Er kommt still und unbeobachtet wie die Schildkröte, hält den Prozess von Manana ungestört aufrecht und dient als feste Basis aller spirituellen Praxis. Viele Dinge tauchen aus dem Geist auf, wenn er aufgewühlt wird, aber die Weisen warten geduldig auf das Erscheinen des Garanten der Unsterblichkeit und ergreifen ihn mit Begierde. Das ist die Lehre aus dieser Legende.
