You must offer the Lord, not the flowers that plants grow; that will reward the plant, not you! The Lord wants you to offer the lotus that blooms in the lake of your heart, the fruit that ripens on the tree of your earthly career, not the lotus and the fruit available in the marketplace! You may ask – “Where can we find the Lord?” Well, He has given His address, in Chapter 18, Sloka 61 of the Bhagavad Gita. Turn to it and note it down. Ishvarah Sarvabhutanam hriddeshe – “O Arjuna, the Lord resides in the heart of all beings.” Now, after knowing that, how can you look down on any living being in contempt or how can you revel in hate or indulge in the pastime of ridiculing? Every individual is charged with the Divine Presence, moved by Divine attributes. Love, honour, friendliness – that is what each one deserves from you. Ihr müsst dem Herrn opfern, nicht die Blumen, welche die Pflanzen wachsen lassen; das wird die Pflanze belohnen, nicht euch! Der Herr möchte, dass ihr den Lotus opfert, der im See eures Herzens blüht, die Früchte, die am Baum eurer irdischen Karriere reifen, nicht den Lotus und die Früchte, die auf dem Markt erhältlich sind! Ihr fragt vielleicht: „Wo können wir den Herrn finden?“ Nun, er hat seine Adresse angegeben, in Kapitel 18, Sloka 61 der Bhagavad Gita. Schlagt sie auf und schreibt sie auf. „Ishvarah Sarvabhutanam hriddeshe – O Arjuna, der Herr wohnt im Herzen aller Wesen.“ Wenn ihr das wisst, wie könnt ihr dann auf irgendein Lebewesen verächtlich herabblicken, in Hass schwelgen oder euch dem Zeitvertreib des Spottes hingeben? Jedes Individuum ist von der göttlichen Gegenwart erfüllt und wird von göttlichen Eigenschaften bewegt. Liebe, Ehre, Freundlichkeit – das ist es, was ein jeder von euch verdient. Gebt diese in vollem Umfang.
