Jnana (Wisdom) is the treasure that man has to accumulate so that he can realise himself as Divine and merge in the ocean of Divine Bliss. Cows may be of different breeds, or colours or sizes; but, the milk they yield is the same, the world over. So too, all religions, whatever their origin or extent of influence, are all means to teach man this process. Now, the law of human behaviour has become “each for himself”; this is because the fact that all are ‘one-in-God’ is not known and realised. This is the product of Sadhana; this conviction grows slowly, but it has to be acquired. Durvasa, the great sage who is famous in the epics for his asceticism, is also known for his anger when he is slighted or thwarted by others. He was so sensitive, so egoistic, and so uppish that he forgot the unity of all-in-God. He was ready with a frightful curse when anyone showed disregard to his inflated ego. Jnana (Weisheit) ist der Schatz, den der Mensch ansammeln muss, damit er sich als göttlich erkennen und im Ozean der göttlichen Glückseligkeit aufgehen kann. Kühe mögen verschiedene Rassen, Farben oder Größen haben, aber die Milch, die sie geben, ist auf der ganzen Welt dieselbe. So sind auch alle Religionen, unabhängig von ihrem Ursprung oder dem Ausmaß ihres Einflusses, Mittel, um den Menschen diesen Prozess zu lehren. Nun ist das Gesetz des menschlichen Verhaltens „jeder für sich“ geworden; das liegt daran, dass die Tatsache, dass alle „eins in Gott“ sind, nicht bekannt und erkannt ist. Dies ist das Ergebnis von Sadhana; diese Überzeugung wächst langsam, aber sie muss erworben werden. Durvasa, der große Weise, der in den Epen für seine Askese berühmt ist, ist auch für seinen Zorn bekannt, wenn er von anderen beleidigt oder behindert wird. Er war so empfindlich, egoistisch und hochmütig, dass er die Einheit des Allgütigen vergaß. Er war zu einem furchtbaren Fluch bereit, wenn jemand sein aufgeblasenes Ego nicht beachtete. Was nützen all die Jahre der Enthaltsamkeit?
